COVID-19 – Community Wellbeing Line
A new helpline is now available for individuals living in South Lanarkshire who are self-isolating/vulnerable and whose usual support network is no longer available.
The helpline will help people to access food and other essential supplies. The Community Engagement Team within the council have been working along with VASLAN to collate activity which is happening within communities, and to make contact with new groups and networks which are developing in response to the current situation.
Community volunteers are playing a key role in supporting the people around them. This includes helping transport essential goods such as food to people who cannot leave their home, carrying out welfare checks where there was a concern expressed about the wellbeing of someone, and offering telephone befriending to those who are isolated.
The helpline number is 0303 123 1009 and the opening hours are as follows:-
Monday to Thursday 8.45 – 4.45
Friday 8.45 – 4.15
Saturday and Sunday 8.45 – 4.45

Nowa linia pomocy jest teraz dostępna dla osób mieszkających w South Lanarkshire, które są samoizolujące się / podatne na zagrożenia i których zwykła sieć wsparcia nie jest już dostępna.
Infolinia pomoże ludziom uzyskać dostęp do żywności i innych niezbędnych zasobów. Zespół ds. Zaangażowania społeczności w radzie współpracuje z VASLAN, aby zestawić działania, które mają miejsce w społecznościach, oraz nawiązać kontakt z nowymi grupami i sieciami, które rozwijają się w odpowiedzi na obecną sytuację.
Wolontariusze społeczni odgrywają kluczową rolę we wspieraniu ludzi wokół nich. Obejmuje to pomoc w transporcie niezbędnych towarów, takich jak żywność, do osób, które nie mogą wyjść z domu, przeprowadzanie kontroli dobrobytu, w przypadku których wyrażano obawy dotyczące dobrego samopoczucia kogoś, oraz oferowanie telefonicznego zaprzyjaźnienia się z osobami odizolowanymi.
