Post of Development Worker (30 hours per week)

Salary £23,296 per annum (pro rata)

 

Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre is a thriving community facility operating in the Whitlawburn area of Cambuslang.  We are a registered charity.

We are run by a voluntary management committee of local people and exist to provide community owned and controlled facilities and services to address the inequalities and exclusion affecting people in the area.

We require to appoint a Development Worker.  This post will support the implementation of a community development strategy across Whitlawburn and Springhall, with a focus on enabling local people and groups to develop and actively participate in their own community.  The post holder will involve people and groups in Whitlawburn and Springhall so they can inform, lead and participate on a range of local initiatives within the community, including current activities and new developments.  You will liaise with a range of statutory, voluntary and community organisations identifying and implementing opportunities within the Whitlawburn and Springhall community.

This role is funded by the Big Lottery until March 2022.

We require to appoint a Community Engagement Worker.  This post will work with people to identify issues important to them and their community.  You will work with people and community groups to utilise their strengths and assets in order to facilitate their involvement in a range of activities and initiatives.  This post will work with people to achieve their goals and wishes for their community.  You will liaise with a range of statutory, voluntary and community organisations identifying and implementing opportunities within the Whitlawburn and Springhall community.

This role is funded by the Big Lottery until March 2022.
